The Cunning of Cynicism

Cynicism comes from a cunning heart, one that has been so deceived, it refuses to be hope again. Are you weary of the world? Are you looking a reason to believe again? Too often the scars of hurt, pain, upset, conflict, abuse, and disillusionment are allowed to cloud the rest of our lives and prevent us from seeing the beauty around us.

It’s discouraging to think that when someone disappoints us, we embrace the pain for years, by closing ourselves off from the world, hiding our true nature, denying ourselves from dreaming again. To be resilient, we need to bounce back, there is no greater satisfaction in life than to pick yourself up after a fall, knowing that all is not lost, you can rise again, and walk again, and even run if you choose to.

We should do the same with our emotions. Instead of staying hurt and holding onto the pain and wound, we relive the incident, tell our stories to everyone, and use it as an excuse to stop living fully. I want to encourage you today to give yourself a chance to be emotionally resilient. I want to invite you to recharge your emotions, rekindle your sense of wonder, joy, surprise, excitement, and laughter. Don’t let another day go by without you smelling the roses or expecting something amazingly good to happen to you.

Life is too short to live with cynicism. Get up, stand up, shout aloud, because today you are setting yourself free emotionally. Now tell somebody how amazingly fun, free, and joyful life is. Yes, you do that because you have been denying yourself from experiencing life for too long. Let’s go!
